Mr. Postol will provide his annual Legal Employment Law Update on November 1.  President Trump has rolled back several of former President Obama’s initiatives, including guidance on independent contractors and joint employer issues.  In Court, President Trump has effectively rolled back the salary limit increases for FLSA exemptions.   President Trump has signaled his own new programs and initiatives, and Congress has some employment law issues on its plate.   The Supreme Court has issued some rulings affecting HR, and at the city and state level, many new statutes have been passed - increasing minimum wage, mandating paid sick leave, and limiting criminal background checks and questions as to prior salary history. Mr. Postol will review the activities of the past year and predict what to expect in the future. 

ABOUT THE PRESENTER - Lawrence Postol, Partner, Seyfarth Shaw LLP
Mr. Postol is a partner and litigator concentrating his practice in the Labor and Employment Law area at Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  Mr. Postol has defended against claims for race, age, sex, and disability discrimination.  Mr. Postol has also handled FLSA, ERISA and OSHA litigation.  Mr. Postol counsels clients on all aspects of employment law and has particular expertise with respect to ADA compliance.  Additionally, Mr. Postol has extensive experience in workers’ compensation defense, as well as handling the defense of toxic tort litigation, and environmental litigation.  Mr. Postol has successfully argued over three dozen cases in the United States Court of Appeals and two cases before the United States Supreme Court.
